This is the fifth bench I've owned. It is also the best one I've owned. It's solid, stable, and I feel extremely safe and secure when using it. There is no wobbling, creaking, popping, etc. when in use. The bench height from the floor to the top of the cushion fits me well. I'm 6' and 225 lbs.

The gap between the cushions ranges between 3 and 5 inches (due to backrest angled at the gap) but it is irrelevant to me. If I sit with my bottom on the seat cushion and lay back I don't even know it's there. If my bottom does end up in the gap it's hardly noticeable (maybe due to the angled cushion). Probably don't let the gap deter you from this bench but this is subjective.

    Assembly was fast and simple.

If you're reading this review then I recommend you stop searching and decide which xmark bench is best for you. I did Internet research for a bench for two weeks. Once I came across xmark I quickly began eliminating all the other considerations and finally decided on the 7472 model. I purchased the 7472 only because it comes with optional attachments if I ever decide to get them. I must imagine their other benches must be as great as this one.

Thanks to the other reviews and xmark I ended up with an excellent high-end product at a low-end cost.

This bench is sturdy and I am pleased with my purchase. My only complaint, as with most FID benches, is the lack of support between the seat and back rest.
